🪪  Start with

  1. Passport (check expiry date!)
  2. Cash (in local currency; despite how online everything is, it’s always a good thing to have some cash on hand, and the at-home exchange rates will almost always be better than at the destination)
  3. Bank cards (debit, credit — best to call the banks to inform them of your travels so there is no lock in case they think it’s fraud; I highly recommend Wise for travels for best exchange rates and lowest fees)
  4. Wallet for cash (with compartment for coins)
  5. Photocopies of passport’s face page and driver’s license (both sides)
  6. 2 passport photos (this helps a lot in case you lose your passport)
  7. Travel insurance’s wallet card printout
  8. Water bottle (I prefer the thermos ones that keep the water cold for hours)

📱 Electronics

  1. Phone
  2. Phone charger
  3. Power bank
  4. e-SIM card or a SIM card remover to switch out SIM cards once you buy a local SIM card
  5. Headphones (even better if it has noise cancelling)

👙 Clothing

  1. Swimsuit
  2. Bras/Bralettes
  3. Underwear
  4. Socks
